Moose beat Fessy 28-26

In the words of head coach Bruce Chauncey, "I've waited 16 years for that.  Fay football on three!"
For the first time since the mid nineties, the Fay Varsity Football team defeated Fessenden on a chilly day at home.  After falling behind 14-0 in the first quarter, the offense rallied back scoring twice in the second quarter tying the game before halftime.  The second half started with both teams trading touchdowns and looked to end as a draw until ninth grader Will Carney intercepted a Fessy pass late in the fourth quarter.  Fay proceeded to march down the field with big runs from eighth graders Jumaane Ford and Aaron McLean (4 touchdowns on the day) scoring with just 26 seconds left.  After a quick touchdown by Fessenden, the Fay defense slammed the door and sealed the game keeping the opposition out of the end zone on their two point conversion.

Throughout the game, ninth graders Neeko Zeno and Henry Tizard played outstanding making blocks, running the ball and completing passes.  On both sides of the line of scrimmage, linemen Jeff McArthur, Michael Villa, Eugene Amankwah, Diego Poo, Alex Nassar, and David Harrison played hard stuffing the run and opening holes for the moose to run wild.  In addition, Sam Stamas, Augie Briger came up big again and again keeping Fessenden from scoring.

The win puts the Moose at 5-2 heading into their season finale against rival Fenn next Friday.
