Hardworking Fay Fall Short to Eaglebrook

The Fay boys varsity soccer team lost 2-4 to Eaglebrook. The boys started the game very brightly against a very physical Eaglebrook side. Fay had good control of the midfield through strong possession play by a combination of Slater Loffredo, Nyle Kamil, JP Corvera, and Julio Fernandez Lopez. Fay eventually broke the deadlock with a looping long-range shot by tireless right-winger Nico Galewicz midway through the first half. Tyler Bois, 1st-time in goals for Fay, had a decent showing in goal all throughout the first half, but he was eventually beaten by a close-range shot to even up the score at 1-1. After seemingly switching tactics to go more direct, Eaglebrook scored another couple of goals, before Fay got one back through a well-taken PK by Milton Jones. With the score at 2-3 Eaglebrook, Fay made another goalkeeper change by brining on Marwan El-Bendary to close out the match -- he was among 4 players, including Jacob Morse and JP Corvera, who were tried in the goalkeeper position during the game. Unfortunately, Eaglebrook managed to get a final goal to win the game at 4-2. Although they lost, Fay worked extremely hard throughout the entire game, which was a good testbed for some new tactics that the team had been working on in practice. If they approach their subsequent matches with the same level of tactical discipline, determination, and hardwork, they'll surely start seeing some positive results in the scoreline. This is the second defeat in as many games for Fay. The Fay boys play Rectory School next away in CT.
