A HOT Victory! 93 Degrees & Sunny

Armed with lots of ice & extra water, and towels soaked in ice water, the 5/6 team took on Charles River School in Dover.  Down one player, we played CRS 10 v 10 and had mid-half water breaks for all players.  Fay also had to adjust to a much smaller field at CRS with minimal space behind each goal.  Thank goodness there was a nice breeze!  Many thanks to the parents & grandparents who braved the heat to cheer us onward & provide popsicles!
As hoped, Fay was able to attack early & score 4 goals during the first half. Fay's constant defensive effort when CRS had the ball was the key to our victory.  All of our players switched from defense>offense or offense>defense for the second half. CRS came out strong and scored two goals. Fay players adjusted to their new positions & regrouped sucessfully.  CRS scored one more goal while Fay scored six goals in the second half. Goals were scored by seven different players: Carina 2, Casey 2, Ava C. 2, and 1 each by Elise, Ava M., Avery & Charlotte.  Assists: Avery 2, Casey 1, and Ava C. 1. Jade made several beautiful saves to protect our lead and Morgan made major contributions on offense & defense.
